Conference Venue

Astronomy-Mathematics Building
The Astronomy–Mathematics Building (ASMAB), jointly established by Academia Sinica and National Taiwan University (NTU), is located beside Drunk Moon Lake on the NTU campus in Taipei. The building houses a nationally recognized collection of professional mathematics and astronomy books. Its high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows create a bright and modern reading environment filled with natural light.

On the first floor, the building features a state-of-the-art international conference hall that can accommodate over 200 participants, making it an ideal venue for hosting international academic events in downtown Taipei. The ASMAB serves as a multifunctional space for research, teaching, experimentation, and international collaboration, providing a vibrant hub for scholarly exchange.

NTU Chee-Chun Leung Cosmology Hall
On the third day of the International Dark Sky Forum, the Dark Sky Initiative Awards Ceremony will take place at the Chee-Chun Leung Cosmology Hall, located adjacent to the ASMAB.

The building’s distinctive architectural design features recessed lower levels that create a striking levitating effect. At its heart lies a 38-meter-high atrium inspired by Rome’s Pantheon. A central skylight seamlessly connects the interior and exterior spaces, allowing natural light to pour in and evoke a serene, almost sacred atmosphere reminiscent of the Pantheon’s dome.
