In August 2019, the Hehuanshan Dark Sky Park was certified by theInternational Dark-Sky Association (IDA), becoming the third dark sky park in Asia and a landmark stargazing destination in Southeast Asia. Supported by the Nantou County Government with dedicated infrastructure funding, local businesses now offer accommodations and guided stargazing experiences, aiming to raise public awareness about night sky conservation and protect the quality of the dark sky together.
This tour will explore how the region preserves its pristine night environment through low light pollution design and environmental education. At night, participants will join a stargazing activity and witness the breathtaking beauty of the Milky Way stretching across the mountain sky.
